In the 1950s and '60s the 2-bar facemask was a standard style worn by position players such as quarterbacks, running backs, receivers and defensive backs.
Riddell has borrowed a page from the Washington Redskins past in bringing back the old school grey 2-bar facemask in its replica mini throwback NFL football helmets. These classic 2-bar NFL throwbacks also use grey closed cel foam to mimic that worn in the era. We've also resurrected authentic Riddell logos and colors that are printed onto the chinstraps and back of your mini helmet, just as they were back then. There are no front and back Riddell nameplates, because they didn't exist back then. The chinstrap uses a stud-and-buckle mechanism that allows it to be snapped and unsnapped like the real thing.
